Here at the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs …
Movement is an integral part of every child’s education. Beginning in first grade and continuing through middle school, students engage in weekly physical education classes designed to support and foster their physical development. Through developmentally appropriate games, students strengthen their fundamental movement abilities - thus, supporting healthy brain development - and learn to navigate a variety of social interactions with their peers. From elementary games of “tag,” to team sports like flag football and softball, students are introduced to a wide range of games and sports.
In addition to compulsory physical education classes, we also offer a wide range of seasonal extracurricular athletic activities. Our interscholastic, competitive sports include cross country and track & field for 7th and 8th graders, while our non-competitive offerings - basketball, ninja club, ski & snowboard, archery, etc. - are open to students starting in grade 3.
