Did you know?
Spring Peepers are tiny-they can fit on the end of your finger!
Their chirps can be heard for up to 1/2 a mile away.
Like other tree frogs, Spring Peepers have enlarged toe pads for climbing.
The females can lay between 750 to 1200 eggs after mating.
Depending on water temperature, they can hatch
into tadpoles in as little as four days.
We love learning about nature here at Waldorf!
Please Join Us For Our Gear & Clothing Swap!!
April 27th from 12:00pm-4:00pm
Lower School
We are collecting all seasonal outerwear, base layers and outdoor gear. Are your kids growing out of their rain pants? Ready to size up or down on your bike? Here is the perfect opportunity to swap items, make some room in your closet and support your school.Look for a collection box 4/24, 4/25 & 4/26 at your child’s school, or drop off directly to the lower school between those days between 7:30am & 3:30pm. We ask if you have any large items, example (sleds, skis, bikes) to please bring directly to the lower school. Acceptable items include: children's clothing, rain and snow suites, gloves, mittens, hats, boots, shoes, sandals, bathing suits, skates, sleds, skis, bikes and other sporting equipment. Please make sure all items are clean, wearable and in good used condition.
Fill a bag for only $10 dollars! All larger outdoor gear items will be priced individually and affordably! Any items that are not purchased will be donated at the conclusion of the sale.
All proceeds will benefit the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs. Please email Nicole at registrar@waldorfsaratoga.org for any questions.
A Work in Progress
5th grade students have been studying Greek Mythology with Miss Kidd. In support of that, Miss Patterson spent time working with them, too, as they created drawings of beautiful Greek vases, which were then selected
for the recent art show at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
Mr. Whitney is now working on a 3-D version of the Greek vase with students out in the wood shop - look at what they've accomplished so far.
We can't wait to see their completed whirling dervish project - Stay tuned!
4th and 5th grade students are busy practicing for the upcoming Spring Assembly. We were invited to listen in on two songs, one they wrote and another we all know and love. It will be wonderful to
hear them on stage later this week!
We were all so impressed with the grade's self-portraits last month, some of the faculty and staff gathered together right before spring break to work on their own under Miss Patterson's instruction. Can you guess who they all are??
OPEN MIC NIGHT!!
The Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs is hosting an Open Mic Night at Caffe Lena on Wednesday, May 8th from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Tickets will be sold at the door. Admission will be $20 for adults, $10 for 12 & under, children 5 & under are FREE. There will not be a cover charge for performers.
